BP Cherryfarm was acquired by its current owners Garry Beaton and
Gek Noy Pocock in a rundown and disused state. Initial environmental
reports on the property suggested that the new owners bulldoze the
old trees and plant new ones as the old trees and tastes were seen
as un fashionable in today’s cherry market.
Instead of taking this advice the new owners decided to keep the old
trees as well as planting newer varieties so that old and newer tastes
in cherries are produced by the farm.
All trees at BP cherryfarm are net inclosed and organic growing practices
are followed to provide optimum growing conditions the farm is also
a member of the Rare Fruits Association.
As well as cherries BP Cherryfarm offers a range of plums/prunes,
peaches and fine fruits.
